Warehouse Audits
Evaluate site suitability, infrastructure condition and operating performance.
Four assessments address different decisions: taking on a building, understanding installed infrastructure, diagnosing operating methods, and testing how effectively storage, docks and equipment are used.
- Pre-occupancy site suitability
- Building, docks, flooring and utilities
- Receiving-to-dispatch operating methods
- Storage, equipment and throughput constraints

[ Four audits ]
Each answers a different question.
Two look at the building, two look at how it is used. Each one is scoped to a decision you need to make.
- A1

Warehouse Site Assessment (Pre-Lease)
A building can look right on a site visit and still fail the operation: docks that can’t take your trucks, a clear height the racking can’t use, or floors nobody has documented.
Scope, approach & deliverables : Warehouse Site Assessment (Pre-Lease)What we assess
- Building dimensions, usable clear height and column spacing
- Location, road connectivity and approach routes for your vehicle types
- Truck access, yard depth, docking apron, parking and circulation
- Dock count, dock heights, levelers and canopy cover against your arrival profile
- Functional storage suitability: which storage systems fit, and at what density
- Equipment compatibility: aisle widths, lift heights, floor finish and charging space
- A2

Warehouse Infrastructure Audit
The operation has changed but the building hasn’t. Racking, docks, floors and services were set up for a different volume, product range or process.
Scope, approach & deliverables : Warehouse Infrastructure AuditWhat we assess
- Facility configuration: how areas are zoned and whether they suit their function
- Operational access: doors, pedestrian routes and separation of people and vehicles
- Expansion constraints inside the building and on the site
- Visible floor condition: cracks, joints, damage and unevenness that affect equipment
- Floor loading documents, and whether current storage appears consistent with them
- Racking infrastructure: configuration, visible damage, load notices, protection and anchoring
- A3

Warehouse Operations Audit
Output varies by shift, the team is always busy, and nobody can say with confidence where time and accuracy are being lost.
Scope, approach & deliverables : Warehouse Operations AuditWhat we assess
- Receiving and put-away
- Storage and picking
- Kitting, packing and dispatch
- Manpower utilization across shifts and functions
- Productivity and cycle time by activity
- Waiting, travel and re-handling observed on the floor
- A4

Warehouse Capacity & Utilization Audit
You have the racking, docks and forklifts, yet storage feels full, docks queue and equipment is always busy or unavailable.
Scope, approach & deliverables : Warehouse Capacity & Utilization AuditWhat we assess
- Racking utilization by zone, location type and level
- Storage density and use of available cube
- Equipment access to locations
- Dock utilization by hour and by door
- Aisle congestion and crossing points
- Travel distance for representative tasks
[ Choosing an audit ]
Which audit do you need?
Start from the question you need answered. If more than one applies, they can be scoped together.
- A1Warehouse Site Assessment (Pre-Lease)
- Answers
- Will this building work for our operation?
- When
- Before a lease, acquisition or handover
- Output
- Suitability report and gap register
- A2Warehouse Infrastructure Audit
- Answers
- Is our building suitable for the operation we now run?
- When
- After the operation changes, before investing
- Output
- Deficiency register and priorities
- A3Warehouse Operations Audit
- Answers
- Where does our operation lose time and accuracy?
- When
- When performance slips, or before peak or investment
- Output
- KPI baseline and prioritized action plan
- A4Warehouse Capacity & Utilization Audit
- Answers
- Is our installed infrastructure used effectively against real demand?
- When
- Before adding space, racking or equipment
- Output
- Utilization and capacity gap analysis
[ How we audit ]
Evidence first.
- 01
Tested against your operation
Every audit starts from your volumes, product profile and equipment, so findings say what matters for you, not for a generic building.
- 02
Observed and measured
Findings rest on site walks, measurements, time studies and your system data, with the evidence recorded for each one.
- 03
Prioritized, not just listed
You receive a ranked plan that separates quick fixes from capital decisions, and flags what needs a specialist.
[ Scope boundaries ]
An assessment, not a certificate.
Our audits are operational and engineering assessments: we observe, measure, review the documents available and recommend. They are not statutory inspections, and we do not issue structural, fire-safety, electrical or building-compliance certificates or approvals.
Where a finding depends on regulated work, such as rack safety inspection, structural load assessment, fire-system compliance or electrical certification, we say so clearly and recommend that it is carried out by an appropriately qualified or authorized professional.
Observational consulting · not statutory inspection
[ After the audit ]
Findings you can act on.
Most audits end with design or improvement work. When you want help with it, our Warehouse Design & Optimization services pick up from the audit evidence.
